Lewd Town Adventures version 0.12 early release out now.

Hello everyone. Jamleng here with the weekly status report. This time we're going to talk about the coming update with some extra information on the why's and how's.

First of all, this is a transitional update where we tried to update as many areas of the game as we could up through day 110 or so. The goal is to try and prevent a significant lack of content (side activities, casual conversations) and to keep the world interesting whenever players just click random places... (not hunting events).

With this in mind, we have added lots of smaller events that are much more focused on character development and overall world-building. This stuff is very important for a sandbox-style game because content draughts (running out of things to do, clicking everywhere, and having no new events) is something we don't want to happen.

In any case, I'm very happy with the result of everything and am also very glad about what we've achieved. Especially in such a short amount of time since we're doing bi-monthly releases for a while instead of quarterly.

The update notes look like this:

  • 39 new events.
  • 1350 new images.
  • 250 new animations.
  • 430+ older images/animations remade.
  • 168 pages of new dialogue added.

Normally I would list out each character who has events with a small bit of information on what's going on. I personally don't think it's really needed this time as - in 0.12 - there is less focus on the main story progression while giving almost every character in Lewd Town something new to do or say. To keep it simple, nearly every location and sub-location have at least one new event. Some have multiple new events or events with multiple characters. This time, even more scenes in the game are included in the journal, so they're easy enough to find. Certain events are outside of the journal - on purpose.

The goal for this update was 1500 images/animations. We easily surpassed that. Including remakes, there are over 2000 images/animations added in this update.

It may at first feel as if this release will be smaller than usual,  but for us, this took a shit-ton of time since this update was not focused on major story progression. We promise that 0.13 will have much more character and story progress, with many events already written, and ready to render.
Aside from just scenes, we've done a lot of other stuff for the game, including:

  • Lilly can be found at her house at different times of the day. (Good Path)
  • Sophia can be found in her bedroom in the evening. (Good Path)
  • Mia can now be found in her room during the evening and night. (Neutral Path)
  • Rachel now moved into Pam's house. (Neutral Path)
  • Stacy can now be visited on the Dark Path - depending on what players have chosen.

The above characters (and others) all have some mini events added or conversational dialogue. Many other characters have had their dialogue updated or can be asked to repeat older naughty encounters.
Talking about the dialogue, lots of characters in the game can be spoken with and they'll sometimes talk about their lives, about you, or about events that happened in the game.
Sometimes they drop lorebombs, sometimes they make a funny joke or whatever, and other times they may chew the MC out for interrupting something... Generally speaking, the dialogue changes every 10 to 20 days up till day 120*. This is and always has been optional - just to give an extra bit of life to the game and to keep it from being too repetitive.
This is not all that's been done though. Quite a bit of time went into some very important other aspects of the game (code), improving everything overall.

Here's a list of quality of life changes:

  • Added night scenes to certain rooms in the mansion.
  • Added a laboratory entrance so you don't end up in Ramoray's office every time you visit.
  • Added name tags to locations when hovering over them.
  • Natalie, Matilda, and Grace have been added to the journal and become available after making the Good/Dark Path choice.
  • The history screen now has dialogue better positioned and the black background that wasn't supposed to be there is now transparent.
  • All animation transitions are now way smoother.
  • The room system in the mansion is now way better coded so bugs will no longer happen.

*A special thanks to Master of Puppets who made some of these possible.

There are lots of smaller changes throughout the whole game. A couple of extra sound effects, some song changes, some more fluid interactions, and the first encounter with Ramoray (Day 12) has been rewritten a bit. The cafeteria had no animation for some reason so that got added, added pauses where they work better... and lots of other small stuff like that.

More importantly, for the coming update I've continued to remake several older scenes that I felt needed it - and sometimes the difference is just day and night.

Here's a list and some examples of remade/enhanced scenes that will be in 0.12:

  • Tanya's first two naughty scenes.
  • A Natalie scene that had a very glitchy/broken door in the background. It was so subtle, it took over a year for someone to notice and call us out on it, lol.
  • Pamela's first visit to the mansion.
  • Pamela's house visit.
  • Pamela's second visit to the mansion.
  • All random toilet encounters in the university have been remade.
  • A couple of early cathedral scenes.
  • All of Chloe's earlier events.
  • A couple of others.

Examples:

There are quite a few other older events that can be massively improved, including - and likely the next round of remakes -  Emily events (visits to the bar/first date on the beach.)
I very often see things that can be improved, mainly in the older events from earlier versions. A lot has already been done on this over the past year.
But if it were up to me I would go all-in with updating everything that I'm not happy with - but that would take a lot of effort and consume significant time needed to write, render, animate, and code new events for the next update.
I've talked about this already: instead of going all-in, I'm currently updating out-of-date stuff with any left-over time I have once new events are done (which is not a lot of time).
I'm kind of debating whether I should just take a full month to enhance/remake all the outdated stuff so I can be 100% happy about the game. However, doing so would delay the story a bit longer than we want at this time.
And for the last part, bug fixes:

  • The hidden ending for Hilda never triggered for like the past 6 updates... This was a huge oversight on my part. It basically made a certain choice useless and never explained anything either - which in turn pissed certain players off. I didn’t truly understand what they were complaining about until now.
  • An optional mid-game event for Hilda was never able to trigger either.
  • A save file number bug was fixed.*
  • Quite a few inconsistencies in certain stories have been fixed.

There were a lot more, but most had already been fixed ever since LTA 0.11 came out - thus we're now in LTA 11.2 (technically 11.3).
Anyway, we're doing our utmost best to release a bug-free version because we know how annoying it is for you guys to encounter such issues. On top of that - it's a time-sink to get a new version of a game ready every time a single bug is encountered and fixed. But that's the job.

On that note, some of the things found we’re pretty damn old issues. If you stumble on a weird situation, animation, a weird line of dialogue, or some other strange, buggy, glitchy occurrence, let us know asap through Discord, comments, message, or fax so I can fix that stuff.

IMPORTANT REMINDER:

The early release will last for a month and for the time being only available on Subscribestar!

September 30: Lewd Town Adventures 0.12 will be available for tier CEO and above.
October 14: The game will be available for tier Manager and above.
October 31: The public release drops.

I really hate doing that because I want everyone to be able to enjoy everything, but for us developing this game is more than a full-time job and we're not doing much else to make a living, so we have to pay our bills somehow.
Maybe we'll make changes to the release schedule in the future but we've just started doing faster update releases so we'll have to see how that works out.

Thank you:
We can never thank you all enough. This game would not exist in its current form without your love, dedication, support, and encouragement.
Xo Mo and I are constantly discussing the future of the game, working out what to focus on next, and - while this update may feel like a smaller content release - it has built the foundation for everything we have planned going forward.

The next few updates will contain major events, some surprises you'll never see 'cumming', and we will see the MC personality evolve as he either seeks a remedy for his actions or dives deeper into the corrupt state of being a Dom.

We hope you stick around and if you can afford to, drop us a coin here and there so we can feel more confident that we're utilizing our time well, instead of seeking a 9-to-5 hourly job somewhere.

Now, on a less serious note, please let us know in the comments below or on Discord what you think of this and previous updates. We love hearing your theories about who will do what and what may happen next. In fact, some of your theories have actually influenced how things turn out. So thanks again.

We hope to see you during the early release and if not, the public release will be on October the 31th.
We really hope everyone enjoys the new update. The game is just getting better and better with each release which is just awesome. We’ve reached 400 events which is a huge milestone!

Talk to you guys/gals later. Have a good one!

Kind regards,

Jamleng.

Ooh, what are these Hilda events you speak of?

A fairly early-game sneaking scene.
As for the hidden ending one, it happens after denying to buy a new liver.
